After the election, Mr. Al Zayani, wished Amcham continued growth and development to enable it to serve the interests of both the United States of America and the Kingdom. Mr. Al Zayani said: "AmCham plays a major role in fostering deeper economic relations between the two countries. The US is a key ally of Bahrain and the most powerful economy in the world. A major opportunity for us is to make use of the US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement for greater bilateral economic benefit. We also plan to lead a high-powered business delegation to the US during September/October to explore opportunities for cooperation." "Another major challenge for us is to reach out to the western world and clean the image of Bahrain that has been tarnished by certain sections of US and European media. We have to show them the true picture and counter the negative propoganda," he added. The new board members met Stephanie Williams, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of United States of America.
