The American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham Bahrain), has elected Qays Hatim Zu’bi as its new President for the term 2013-2014 . This took place at AmCham’s annual General Assembly meeting held at The Intercontinental Regency Hotel on Thursday May 9th, 2013.

The weeklong event featured a wide variety of activities and promotions at a variety of locations across Bahrain.

Al Zayani Investments Chairman Hamid Rashid Al Zayani has been elected as Chairman of American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (Amcham). The election of new office-bearers and board members for AmCham's governing body happened at the annual general meeting on Sunday. The new leadership team comprises – Ahmed Jawaheri as First Vice President, Badea Esbai as Second Vice President, Mirna Saliba as Vice President for Membership, Mazen Manna as Vice President for Programme, Nabeel Ajoor as Board Member and Naser Al Arayed as Board Member.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham) organized a luncheon in honor of the US Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade, H.E. Francisco Sanchez, who is was on a visit to Bahrain. The event was attended by the US Ambassador Mr. Adam Ereli and embassy official, a representative from Bahrain Economic Development Board, , and over 30  attendees from the local business community.

Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali welcomed the delegation at the airline’s headquarters in Muharraq and hosted a lunch in honour of the visiting delegation.

A delegation from  the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham Bahrain) during a visit to the United States last week discussed means to promote trade relations, ‮ ‬ maximizing the use of the free trade agreement, at a time when American exports to region are expected to exceed 75‬ billion dollars this year, seeing an increase of 20%. The delegation, which included 30 ‮members representing a number of economic sectors, ‮ ‬ including the Executive Director‬ of Operations for the Economic Development Board, Kamal Ahmed, also discussed during a meeting

American Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting at the Gulf Hotel. Chief guest at the event, United Airlines managing director Marcel Fuchs, spoke about the airline's imminent launch of services between Bahrain and Washington, via Kuwait on April 18. He said the airline had received a lot of support from Bahraini businessmen who had been instrumental in the airline coming to Bahrain and starting services.
Earlier, chamber president Adel Al Safar welcomed Mr Fuchs and other guests, including US ambassador Adam Ereli.

Over 50 members, guests and media representatives attended the event which also featured presentations by the Group CEO of @bahrain Nicola Pero titled “Making money meaning @bahrain” and Josh Lerner on “The Future of Private Equity in a Time of Flux”.

MANAMA: Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro yesterday said Bahrain and the US were 'moving ahead on a road of understanding' and co-operation towards achieving all the objectives of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries. Speaking at the wrap-up session of the second Bahrain-US FTA joint review committee meeting at the Gulf Hotel, he said the meeting had been successful.
